Portage la Prairie Planning District
The City and Rural Municipality of Portage la Prairie have joined together to form the Portage la Prairie Planning District. A Planning District is established to ensure standardized planning requirements through an updated development plan and zoning by-law encompassing both municipal jurisdictions. This will promote a regional approach to industrial, agricultural and urban fringe development. The office will be looking after building inspections, planning, permits (building, demolition, plumbing, moving), variations, conditional uses and zoning for both municipalities.
